July 21, 2011–Future Health announced today that eConnect and Certified VOS (version 2.0 eConnect and CVOS) is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as a Complete EHR on July 21, 2011 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), an ONC-ATCB, in accordance with the applicable Eligible Provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The 2011/2012 criteria support the Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
"I am thrilled for our customers to have the capability to be eligible for the $44,000 EHR incentive with our Complete EHR Certification for eConnect and Certified VOS," said Steven Kraus, DC, founder and CEO of Future Health. "We are committed to the chiropractic profession and want nothing but success for their practices. We believe this advancement in their EHR technology will allow them to be major players in the health care community on so many levels from information exchange to improving their relationship with other providers. And most importantly, improving the quality of care they deliver to their patients.
"Future Health team members have been committed to achieving Complete EHR certification for the past two years when we were the first DC-specific software to guarantee certification. We took the time to do this right. The team's hard work and dedication to combining the meaningful use objectives with an easy workflow was important to us in order to better serve our customers and partners. Obtaining the certification is a milestone for any company. But designing the software so that users can experience a smooth and quick method to document patient care and keep their patient workflow moving along is critical to the truly successful EHR implementation. "We are committed to helping the profession collect de-identified health information to help show the world the effectiveness of chiropractic care. With more and more clinics using our advanced system, our vision is becoming a reality faster than we had dreamed. We have more work to do, and we will continue to drive towards elevating doctor's practices and the profession as a whole."
The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that Complete EHRs meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria and EHR Modules meet one or more - but not all - of the criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) for either eligible provider or hospital technology.
"CCHIT is pleased to be testing and certifying products so that companies are now able to offer these products to providers who wish to purchase and implement certified EHR technology and achieve meaningful use in time for the 2011-2012 incentives," said Karen M. Bell, M.D., M.S.S., Chair, CCHIT.
The eConnect and Certified VOS (version 2.0 eConnect and CVOS) certification number is CC-1112-888070-1. ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification conferred by CCHIT does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services nor does it guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.
