In the last two years, under our management group, the AAOM has made certain changes and advances in its ability to expand communications with members and the profession at large. This has led to fast growth and, as a result, the AAOM has increased its involvement internationally, nationally and locally.
Fortunately for the AAOM, Rebekah Christensen, the executive director of the California State Oriental Medical Association (CSOMA), is in the process of taking over as the executive director for the AAOM, effective June 1, 2004. Rebekah is leaving the directorship of CSOMA and moving over to become AAOM's executive director. With her vast experience and personal knowledge of our profession, she will head up the AAOM's new offices in Sacramento, California. If there are any difficulties that our members experience during this change, please be patient and contact one of the board members to help you address your questions. We expect everything to be completely changed over by the end of May, and with the change, an improvement in member services and public relations far beyond what our members currently are experiencing.
